An Introduction...
I have wanted to be involved in human rights for a long time, but I was never sure in exactly what way. From which angle would I be involved? Which human issues were the most important to me? Which were the most critical to the world? I've been narrowing down my focus for a while when recently I settled on a steadily growing field--the junction of human rights and environmentalism. Our natural resources are being acquisitively depleted every hour of every day, with no compensation or adequate substitution for the people who need them most. The remaining parts of the earth are being bulldozed in the name of progress with no thought of consequences for affected populations. Environmental issues are the impending human rights concerns in this day and age, and so have earned the dedication and energy of this blog.
With this blog I would like to inspire action and defeat apathy; these issues affect us all whether we are aware or not.
